Milestones in the History of East African Mission
1994 – Beginning of our Missionary activities in East Africa & Establishment of First community in South B as central house for the mission.
2006 – Inauguration of New Central house in Otiende, Langata & beginning of Religious life formation.
2008 – East African Mission is erected as a Region under the Leadership of Mother Joyce Maria as the Regional Superior.
2011 – First Profession of first members from East Africa
2016 – East African Mission is raised to the status of a Province under the Leadership of Mother Joyce Maria as the Provincial Superior.
2018– Final Profession of first members from East Africa
2019 – Silver Jubilee of East African Mission
MAMA JOYCE - BRAVE WOMAN OF SION PROVINCE!
The SABS Congregation was privileged to witness the rapid development of our mission in East Africa. The Eucharistic Lord who has planted the SABS seed in African soil, also used a dynamic personality- Mother Joyce Maria, the first Mission Superior, the first Regional Superior and the first Provincial Superior of East African Mission to nurture and care for that plant; and today this little plant has grown into a beautiful tree, providing shelter and shade for many. All her physical struggles and mental agonies have become the manure for the growth of this mission. She came to this mission in the year 1999, when the mission was still in its beginning stage. Indeed, every success in this mission has the story of her sweat and hardships.
