Venerable Bishop Thomas Kurialacherry - Founder
Bishop Kurialacherry was well known as the ‘Bishop of the Holy Eucharist.’ The inmates of the Bishop’s house reported that during the late hours of every night, in the dim light of the sanctuary lamp, a short man was seen in front of the tabernacle on his knees with folded hands. His trust in the Eucharistic Lord had been the main source of his spiritual strength. In fact, the religious community he founded is the living extension of the Eucharistic spirituality of Bishop Thomas Kurialacherry.” His heart was tied to the tabernacle and the love of Jesus in the Eucharist that he experienced urged him to make Christ known and loved by others. It is clear that Bishop Thomas not only loved the Eucharist and propagated its devotion, but rather, his life itself rotated around the Eucharist.
Our Founder was a man of the people. He went out of his way to share the goodness he received from the Eucharist with others. He became a friend, a brother and a father to all.
Servant Of God Mother Mary Francisca de Chantal - The Co- Foundress
Servant of God Mother Mary Francisca de Chantal, the Co- Foundress of SABS was an ardent devote of the Holy Eucharist. She believed that Jesus as person is present in the Holy Sacrament truly, really and substantially. Her only aim in life was to love Jesus and to make the Eucharistic Jesus known, loved, and adored by as many as in this world. She had an intimate relationship with Jesus which forced her to spend most of her time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. She realized that, the loving presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament was like a magnetic power in her life, that she could not resist her desire, but to be with Jesus. It was this conviction which motivated her to collaborate with our beloved Founder to begin our Congregation.
Mother Chantal was an embodiment of love. Her life was fully dedicated to console the weak, strengthen the downtrodden and the afflicted, support the poor and hungry, cloth the naked, heal the sick and the suffering. She used to extend her service irrespective of caste, creed or community.
