The Eucharistic spirit urges us to engage in humanitarian activities, as SABS missionaries to fulfil our redemptive mission. For the SABS, every apostolate is an avenue to promote Eucharistic devotion and also the Gospel value. Our pastoral ministries help us to build communion bringing all to the Eucharistic Lord, the Bread of life.
Adoration Apostolate
In the valleys and hills of this Dark Continent, we met people who are really thirsting for God. We conduct day and night Adoration, 40 hours of Adoration, 13 hours of Adoration for the people of this nation. In Nerkwo Parish, our sisters and the formees conducted 13 hours of Adoration in small Christian communities. At the end of the Adoration, they helped many families who were enemies to get reconciled in a spirit of forgiveness and love. They also went around house to house and each house knelt down and prayed the Rosary and Way of the Cross. This sacrificial prayer of our sisters made a lot of influence on their families and personal life and many started coming to the Church. They also went to the nearby Secondary Schools and animated Adoration in the schools. All those schoolchildren never had such an opportunity and they really appreciated it.
Praying with the Prisoners
Every Wednesday, we find time to be with the women prisoners who are sentenced for life and give them talk,s and animate Adoration for them.
Preparering the faithful
Our sisters prepare the faithful, especially children for the active participation in the Liturgy. In Maua Parish, they do conduct Night vigil in the parish churches with the cooperation of zealous parishioners. Preparing the children for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and teaching catechism is considered as an important mission and we do offer our sacrificial services for them. In some parishes our sisters take initiative to conduct seminar for Mothers & youth and empower them to face challenges in their daily life.
IBADA
The sisters go to the outstations and conduct the ‘IBADA’, preach the Word of God, distribute the Holy Communion and conduct Adoration. There are many outstations without a Tabernacle or Holy Eucharist. Due to lack of Priests, they can reach those places only once in a while.
Retreat Team
As per the decision of our Provincial synaxis a retreat team is formed having in mind to conduct more Eucharistic retreat in schools and offer counseling services. In the year 2022, 4 retreats were already conducted in our secondary schools under the guidance of our retreat team.
‘Little angels’ children’s group
According to the decision of our Provincial synaxis we train small children in our parishes and schools as Bible Nursery groups. We teach them songs, Word of God and help them to grow in their faith. It is very beautiful to see in our Holy Family children’s home in Eldoret, where the little children who are infected and affected by the killer disease HIV/AIDS, together praise and thank the Lord by singing, reciting the Word of God, Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet.
